Nicole Storrs is a South Florida born and raised sculptor and textural artist. Her work is greatly influenced by the many different cultures that surround her every day. In 2002, she graduated from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. Since 2000, she has made a living as a ceramics instructor, teaching people with mental health challenges to express themselves in ways that are productive and positive for their recovery.
Otherwise known as the controversial pseudonym NicoleHatesYou, her sarcasm is evident in the art pieces she produces, as they usually express love, broken trust, and other dramatic and painful emotional obstacles. She is well known for her sculptural art series Hearts, that include pieces such as the “Cornua” series and “Fireworks”. Not one to stick to a solitary medium, Nicole has also gained noticed for her acrylic and resin work, including her series Teeth and Dirt, which are grounded in gritty, visceral imagery. In contrast, she uses the entire gamut of bright colors and shiny surfaces. As she puts it, “I am in constant pursuit of creating the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. My dream is to create a diamond with my own hands.”
Storrs resides in Lauderhill with her dog and cat. She enjoys cold brew coffee and cheats at board games.
